A Boeing-787 Dreamliner aircraft was deployed for this purpose, and the aircraft was welcomed at the Katunayake Airport with a water salute. Jetstar Airways flight JQ-005 arrived at Katunayake Airport from Melbourne, Australia on August 25 at 06.24 pm, carrying 271 passengers and 13 crew members. This airline service will operate three days a week from now on, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, between Katunayake, Sri Lanka and Melbourne, Australia, and the flight will take around ten hours.
