Sri Lanka, July 20 -- Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar on Saturday underlined the importance of upholding ceasefire commitments under the Islamabad MoU and avoiding any actions that could further escalate tensions.

Dar received a telephone call from Foreign Minister of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Kuwaiti, the Foreign Office Spokesperson said in a press release. The two foreign ministers discussed the latest developments in the region.
