Sri Lanka, May 1 -- Italy's Ambassador to Sri Lanka, with accreditation to the Maldives Damiano Francovigh paid a courtesy call on Defence Secretary, Air Vice Marshal (Retd) Sampath Thuyacontha at the Defence Ministry on Wednesday (29).Sri Lanka Tourism

During the meeting, they discussed matters of mutual interest, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing co-operation in defence and security. The Defence Secretary extended a warm welcome to the Ambassador.

Ambassador Francovigh expressed his appreciation for the long-standing ties between Italy and Sri Lanka and reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with Sri Lankan authorities to deepen co-operation across a range of sectors.
