SriLanka, Sept. 24 -- Members of Parliament from the Ilankai Tamil Arasu Katchi (ITAK) have sought the support of India and the United States to secure the release of Sivarasa Anojan, a Sri Lankan facing the death penalty in Saudi Arabia.

ITAK Parliamentary Group Leader Shanakiyan Rasamanickam and other ITAK MPs met Indian High Commissioner Santosh Jha and U.S. Embassy Political and Economic Counsellor Anthony V. Pirnot on September 23 as part of ongoing efforts to save Anojan's life.

The MPs briefed the diplomats on the circumstances of Anojan's case on behalf of his family and requested their assistance in securing his release.
