Sri Lanka, Aug. 18 -- The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has successfully collected around 61 percent of its target revenue of Rs. 2,402 billion allocated for the year 2026, according to Tax Policy and Legislation Commissioner Nandana Kumara.

He highlighted that tax revenue collection has increased by approximately 16 percent compared to the previous year. Given this positive momentum, the IRD remains confident of fully achieving its total tax revenue target for 2026.
