SriLanka, Sept. 29 -- Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has called for stronger and more institutionalised relations between Iran and China as the two countries mark the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties. Ghalibaf, who is also Iran's special representative for Chinese affairs, made the remarks in a note published on the occasion.

Ghalibaf described Iran and China as two ancient Asian civilisations and said their relationship should move beyond political agreements towards tangible economic and development projects.
