Sri Lanka, Oct. 12 -- Deputy Minister Anton Jayakody chaired a discussion with officials held at the Balapitiya Divisional Secretariat on Friday (9), to preserve the ecological balance of the Madu Ganga ecosystem, an internationally recognised Ramsar wetland, and to systematically regulate tourist boat operations that exceed its carrying capacity.
Officials representing multiple State institutions took part in the discussion, including the Wildlife Conservation Department, Forest Conservation Department, Central Environmental Authority (CEA), Coast Conservation Department, Balapitiya Divisional Secretariat, Pradeshiya Sabha, Irrigation Department, National Aquaculture Development Authority (NAQDA) and the Sri Lanka Police.Book Beach Resort...
