Sri Lanka, June 16 -- At the 20th anniversary celebrations of the Up-Country Education Development Society (UEDS), India's High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Santosh Jha commended its significant contribution to promote education and empower the Indian Origin Tamil (IOT) community.

During the celebrations in Colombo on June 14, Jha who congratulated the UEDS on two decades of dedicated service, noted the IOT community occupies a special place in the shared history and civilisational ties between India and Sri Lanka and continues to serve as a living bridge between the two countries.
