Indian HC observes Vesak
Sri Lanka, June 3 -- The Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka observed Vesak with a series of initiatives that reflect the deep-rooted Buddhist and civilisational ties between India and Sri Lanka.
Among them was a photo exhibition on the 'Buddhist Heritage of India' which was inaugurated by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake in the presence of India's High Commissioner Santosh Jha.
The exhibition highlights India's profound Buddhist legacy through photographs of sacred sites, ancient monasteries, stupas, archaeological remains and UNESCO World Heritage Sites associated with the life and teachings of the Buddha.
