Immigration Deputy Controller held over forged passport for organised criminal
Sri Lanka, July 7 -- The Colombo Fraud Investigation Bureau of the Police yesterday arrested the Deputy Controller (Administration) of the Immigration and Emigration Department for allegedly aiding and abetting the preparation of a forged passport.
The Colombo Fraud Investigation Bureau is currently conducting investigations, following a notification made by the Colombo Chief Magistrate to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), regarding a case being heard in Court concerning the preparation of a forged passport.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the biographical data of another person had been matched with the photograph of an organised crime gang member who was deported to this country from Chennai, India, Police said.
