Sri Lanka, May 20 -- Finance and Planning Deputy Minister Dr. Anil Jayantha Fernando yesterday said that Sri Lanka is expected to receive the combined fifth and sixth tranches of its Extended Fund Facility (EFF) from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), with an inflow of about US$ 700 million expected by the end of May in order to manage trade balance in a favourable manner.

Speaking in Parliament the Deputy Minister said that the ADB has also increased its planned 2026 Budget support to US$ 480 million, which incorporates USD 100 million in additional funds to mitigate global economic headwinds
