Sri Lanka, Sept. 18 -- The International Monetary Fund while commending progress achieved by Sri Lanka in the economic sector yesterday said that country has succeeded in maintain fiscal discipline during the recent period.

IMF Mission Chief Evan Papageorgio during a meeting with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake commended the country's progress in maintaining fiscal discipline during the recent period, including increasing government revenue and attracting foreign investment.

He further highlighted the importance of ensuring that the economic stability achieved so far is maintained when moving towards 2027 and beyond.
