Sri Lanka, Feb. 23 -- The Secretary, Ministry of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs Ravi Seneviratne said illicit narcotics are a terrible danger that has befallen Sri Lanka.
He said that while the Public Security Ministry was allocated Rs. 147 billion in the 2025 budget, the total value of drugs seized that year was Rs. 110 billion. He explained it is clear from this how much money the drug trade is generating and the harm it does to society in general. The Secretary was highlighting the dangers posed by the illegal trade in narcotics at an event in Dambulla on Saturday.
