Sri Lanka, Oct. 6 -- The General Secretary of the Bodu Bala Sena organisation, Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera, stated that he went to a forest hermitage to meditate, not to evade Court, due to severe mental stress and upon the advice of senior Monks.
The Monk made these statements to Journalists while being taken into Remand custody by Prison officials, following an order by the Court of Appeal to immediately enforce his 6-year prison sentence for Contempt of Court, effective from yesterday (05).
Pointing out that he was going to the prison cell without any conflict with the Judiciary, Gnanasara Thera also stated that he stood up for the security of the entire country and its people.
