Sri Lanka, May 14 -- The Kilinochchi Crimes Investigation Division has arrested a 25-year-old man and his 20-year-old wife in connection with ten daytime house burglaries. The arrests were made following a crime prevention operation in Kilinochchi town, where police uncovered a massive haul of stolen property and gold jewellery valued at Rs. 7.5 million.

Investigations revealed that the husband, a casual labourer from Shanthapuram, carried out the break-ins while his wife assisted in concealing the stolen goods. A significant portion of the gold had already been pawned at private centres and a bank in Mannar.
