SriLanka, Sept. 21 -- Hambantota International Port (HIP) recently hosted a National Oil Spill Contingency Plan Workshop conducted by the Marine Environment Protection Authority (MEPA), bringing together nearly 100 representatives to strengthen preparedness for marine oil spill incidents.

The workshop provided an important platform for government agencies, emergency services, regulators and private sector stakeholders to better understand their respective responsibilities and strengthen coordination during a marine pollution emergency.
