Sri Lanka, June 8 -- The Department of Meteorology says showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces, as well as in the Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts today (08).

According to the weather forecast issued at 5.30 a.m., fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 50 mm is likely at some locations in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.

A few showers may also occur in the Anuradhapura and Hambantota districts.
