Sri Lanka, May 15 -- According to the weather forecast issued at 5.30 a.m. today (15), cloudy skies are expected over most parts of the country.

Showers or thundershowers are forecast at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Western and Northern provinces, as well as in the Anuradhapura, Galle and Matara districts.

The Met Department warned that very heavy showers of about 150mm are likely at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces.

Heavy rainfall exceeding 100mm is also expected at some places in the Galle and Matara districts.

Meanwhile, showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva and Eastern provinces after 1.00 p.m.
