Sri Lanka, May 12 -- The Department of Meteorology says rainy conditions across the island are expected to continue today (12) due to the low-pressure area located northeast of Sri Lanka remaining active in the nearby sea area.Sri Lanka Trade Report

According to the weather forecast issued at 5.30 a.m. today, showers or thundershowers will occur at times in most parts of the island, while cloudy skies are also expected.

Heavy rainfall exceeding 100 mm is likely at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, North-Western and Northern provinces, as well as in the Trincomalee district.
