Sri Lanka, March 13 -- The Department of Meteorology has issued an Amber-level Warm Weather Advisory for 14 March 2026, warning that the heat index in several provinces could reach cautionary levels. The advisory, released by the Natural Hazards Early Warning Centre, covers the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, North-central, and North-western provinces, as well as Monaragala, Mannar, and Vavuniya districts.
Meteorologists cautioned that the heat felt on the human body could rise to levels capable of causing fatigue and heat cramps, particularly during prolonged outdoor activity.
