Harsha says thieves must be punished, but cautious on 22A
SriLanka, Aug. 29 -- The 22nd Constitutional amendment should not be carried out in favour of the existing Supreme Court and Court of Appeal Judges, Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Dr. Harsha de Silva said.Try Time Trackers
"We are happy and supportive of the actions taken against bribery and corruption by the government and will provide all necessary support. In Parliament we always fight against bribery and corruption," he said.
Speaking to the media yesterday, he said that it has to be analysed if there will be any harm done to the sovereignty of the people due to the Constitutional amendment, whether the judicial power of the people which is being exercised be hindered in some way through the legislature.
