Sri Lanka, Aug. 5 -- The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the proposal to publish the draft 22nd Constitutional Amendment Bill and the Judicature (Amendment) Bill in the Government Gazette before presenting them to Parliament for approval, Cabinet Spokesman, Health and Mass Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said.

Addressing the weekly post-Cabinet media briefing yesterday (4), Dr.Jayatissa said the proposed reforms are aimed at strengthening the independence of the judiciary while improving the efficiency of the Court system by reducing the backlog of pending cases.
