Govt will not allow threats to investigators and officers probing crimes - President
Sri Lanka, June 25 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake told Parliament today(25) that a government committed to upholding justice can only stand against criminals and will never act against civic citizens.
Addressing the House, the President said ordinary citizens would not oppose ongoing investigations into past offences.
He further warned that attempts to obstruct the legal process by threatening officers involved in investigating crimes against the public would not succeed.
President Dissanayake stressed that the government would continue its efforts to ensure justice for the people "without interruption or interference," and would carry forward investigations into past incidents.
