SriLanka, April 4 -- The Government has announced plans to invest US$ 8 to 10 billion over the next three years to strengthen its transport infrastructure. As part of this effort, international private companies will soon be invited to operate one of the country's international airports.Speaking at a transport forum in Russia, Transport and Highways and Urban Development Minister Bimal Rathnayake re-affirmed the country's openness to working with friendly nations that respect sovereignty and mutual reputation.
He said that two new ports will also be established in the country. The Minister was speaking at the International Transport and Logistics Forum held in St. Petersburg.
