Sri Lanka, March 27 -- Essential Services Commissioner General Prabath Chandrakeerthi announced yesterday (26) that the Government has decided to introduce a new set of energy and fuel saving guidelines for all state institutions, to avert possible energy crisis in the country triggered by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
Speaking at a special press briefing, he said that these guidelines were issued during the second meeting of the Committee on Maintaining Public Services, chaired by Prime Minister Dr.Harini Amarasuriya. "The directive applies to all ministries, departments, district secretariats, and statutory bodies. These institutions are required to strictly regulate their fuel and electricity consumption.
