Sri Lanka, March 3 -- The Government will take immediate steps to streamline and speed up the grant of environmental approvals for investors.
Environment Minister Dammika Patabendi who made this pledge acknowledged that certain matters could not be resolved immediately, but expressed confidence that many issues, particularly boundary demarcation concerns involving land allocated to the Forest and Wildlife Departments after the conflict, could be addressed through inter-departmental coordination.
