SriLanka, Sept. 29 -- Former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has arrived at the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court to provide evidence via video conference in a case concerning the alleged abduction and enforced disappearance of political and human rights activists Lalith Kumar Weeraraj and Kugan Muruganandan.

He is scheduled to give evidence online to the Jaffna Magistrate's Court, where the case is being heard.

The Jaffna Magistrate's Court had previously ordered Rajapaksa to appear before the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court today (29) to provide his testimony via video conference.

The order was issued following a request made by Rajapaksa's legal team.
