Sri Lanka, March 11 -- The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a proposal to grant free visa extensions to foreign nationals unable to leave the country before the expiration of their visas due to ongoing flight cancellations in the Middle East region. Some tourists who scheduled their departure from the country could not leave before the end of their visa validity period due to cancellation of flights from February 28 to the Middle East region owing to the conflict prevailing at present in that region.

Taking the special situation into consideration, such passengers should facilitate to stay legally within Sri Lanka until optional travel facilities are prepared.South Asians & Diaspora
