Sri Lanka, Sept. 8 -- Another successful phase of the national programme to introduce advanced fourth-generation MCI Hybrid Pellet Fertilizer and Biofilm Biofertilizer to paddy cultivation was held at the Wilwatta Farmers' Association in Mirigama on August 25, 2026.

The islandwide initiative is being implemented through a public-private partnership. The programme aims to introduce farmers to modern agricultural technologies and scientifically proven fertilizer application methods, thereby encouraging more efficient and productive agricultural practices. An assessment of the paddy harvest from a field belonging to G. R. Leelananda, Chairman of the Wilwatta Farmers' Association, was also conducted in conjunction with the programme.
