Sri Lanka, June 4 -- Four inmates died and sixteen others were reported missing after a fire broke out at an elders' home in Batagoda in Anguruwatota yesterday evening, police said. Over 55 injured inmates were admitted to the Galpatha and Horana hospitals for treatment.

Three fire engines have been despatched to scene to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading further. Search and rescue operations were underway to rescue any individuals who may be trapped or unaccounted for.
