Sri Lanka, June 2 -- Four fishermen from Point Pedro, Jaffna remain missing at sea for almost a week despite ongoing search and rescue operations involving local fishermen and State authorities, amid growing concern among their families and the fishing community.

The missing fishermen reportedly left the Point Pedro coast in two fishing boats at around 11 p.m. on Wednesday (27) for fishing activities but failed to return to shore.

According to fishermen in the area, adverse weather conditions, including strong winds and rough seas, prevailed in the region from the day they went missing.
