Sri Lanka, July 23 -- The Fort Magistrate's Court yesterday (22) granted permission to the Colombo Central Crimes Investigation Unit to detain and question Anujith Bandara, the son of former State Minister Shantha Bandara, for 24 hours in connection with the alleged robbery of Rs. 20 million belonging to a Chinese national.

Police told the court that the suspect is believed to be the principal suspect behind the robbery and sought a 48-hour detention order to continue investigations. However, Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasena granted permission to detain him until today (23).
