Sri Lanka, July 3 -- Former Sri Lanka Navy Commander, Admiral of the Fleet Wasantha Karannagoda, was arrested today (03) by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) after being summoned to record a statement in connection with an ongoing corruption investigation.
CIABOC stated that the arrest was made at around 10.05 a.m. within the Commission premises by its investigative officers, following questioning related to alleged irregularities in the 2006 recruitment of Midshipmen to the Executive Branch of the Sri Lanka Navy.
