Sri Lanka, March 6 -- The Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Ministry has established an Emergency Response Unit to coordinate matters arising from the ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

This Division has been created with the vision of prioritising the safety and well-being of Sri Lankan nationals: With around one million Sri Lankans living and working in the region, their protection remains the foremost concern of the Government, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.Geographic Reference

The unit which will be in operation round the clock 247 basis will also assist non-Sri Lankan nationals in Sri Lanka and issues faced by the foreign nationals due to the current situation will be addressed on a case-by-case basis.
