Sri Lanka, July 22 -- Five employees were killed after a massive fire broke out at a factory manufacturing helmets in the Katuwana Industrial Zone in Homagama yesterday morning.

According to Homagama Police, more than 80 employees were on duty when the fire erupted.The blaze rapidly spread to the third floor of the building, trapping several workers inside.

Police initially recovered two bodies from the site. A joint search operation carried out by the Police Air Force and Army later led to the recovery of three more bodies and all bodies had been burnt beyond recognition.
