Sri Lanka, April 1 -- A local multi-day fishing vessel seized while transporting sacks suspected to contain narcotics was escorted to the Dikowita Fisheries Harbor today (01) following a special operation conducted by the Sri Lanka Navy.Sri Lanka Travel

The Navy intercepted the vessel in the deep seas off the south-west of Sri Lanka and took it into custody.

Six suspects who were on board the vessel were also apprehended during the operation.

The Navy stated that it continuously carries out patrols and special operations in sea areas surrounding the island to ensure national security, which led to the detection and seizure of the vessel suspected of transporting narcotics.
