Sri Lanka, April 29 -- Jaffna District MP Dr. Ramanathan Archchuna has been granted bail after being arrested over an alleged incident involving a firearm.
The Mallakam Magistrate's Court ordered his release on two surety bails.
The MP was arrested by Ilavalai Police on April 27 following an incident reported in Jaffna on April 25, where he was accused of threatening a woman during a dispute.
Police said the incident was linked to an ongoing land ownership disagreement currently before court.
According to police, tensions escalated when a confrontation took place at the land site while the MP was clearing the area, leading to the alleged threat.
