Sri Lanka, June 30 -- A digitisation programme has been planned to run all operations of the Examinations Department for efficient management and the convenience of the public seeking its services.

The Department conducts more than 300 examinations annually, including national-level examinations. Currently, a computerised Management Information System (MIS) is used to manage critical tasks tied to all data and operations of these examinations.

However, since the main operations of the Department exist as separate computer networks unique to each division, many essential stages of the examination process must be carried out using human resources alone, and data and documents are physically transferred between branches.
