Sri Lanka, Sept. 2 -- A meeting was held between newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Wei Huaxiang and Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) General Secretary Tilvin Silva at the JVP Head Office in Pelawatte on Monday (31).

Ambassador Wei, who presented his credentials on August 25, appreciated the welcome he had received from the Sri Lankan people since his arrival, saying he did not feel at all foreign in the country. He expressed confidence in strongly advancing bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and China during his tenure.

The discussion touched on the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, along with the 75th anniversary of the historic China - Sri Lanka Rubber-Rice Agreeme...
