Environmental Act amendment to power CEA with greater clout
Sri Lanka, May 12 -- Sri Lanka is set to amend its National Environmental Act for the first time in 26 years, introducing a slew of major reforms including stronger legal provisions aimed at improving environmental regulation and enforcement.Sri Lanka Trade Report
Other major reforms include Load-Based Charging under the 'Polluter Pays' Principle and mandatory environmental recommendations prior to the establishment of industries.
