Educated but excluded
SriLanka, Sept. 9 -- Education has been one of Sri Lanka's greatest achievements over the years. The country's free education system has supported millions of people in benefiting from education, regardless of their gender or social background. As a result, Sri Lanka has been able to promote gender equality in education by ensuring equal access to educational opportunities for both men and women. However, when comparing the educational performance of men and women, women have demonstrated greater success, achieving better results in public examinations and securing a higher proportion of places in universities than men.
