Sri Lanka, July 30 -- Sri Lanka has maintained its sovereign credit rating at its previous level despite major external shocks, Labour Minister and Economic Development Deputy Minister Dr.Anil Jayantha Fernando said yesterday.

He described the outcome as a significant achievement for the country's economic recovery.

Issuing a statement yesterday (29), the Minister said the latest sovereign credit rating from Standard & Poor's (S&P) in July 2026 left Sri Lanka's rating unchanged. The Minister also noted that Sri Lanka's Transfer and Convertibility (T&C) Rating had been upgraded from CCC+ to B-, reflecting stronger foreign-exchange liquidity, improved reserve levels, and greater confidence in the country's ability to facilitate foreign in...
