Sri Lanka, July 15 -- Earnings from tourism in June this year decreased slightly compared to June last year.
According to a Central Bank report, while the income this year was Rs. 50.5 billon, it was Rs. 50.8 billion in the same period last year.
The Central Bank report also said during the first six months of this year (January-June), tourism earnings decreased by 6.6 percent to Rs. 475.6 billion. During this period in 2025, the income received from tourism earnings was Rs. 509.1 billion.
Meanwhile in June this year, 124,551 foreign tourists arrived in the country, while in June 2025, the number of tourists who arrived in the country was 138,241.
