Sri Lanka, June 16 -- Science and Technology Minister Professor Chrishantha Abeysena highlighted how drone technology is an excellent solution to the severe labour shortage the agriculture sector is currently facing.

Speaking at a special drone technology workshop in the Kurukulawa paddy fields area in Wattala recently, he said it is a highly efficient method that saves time. 'Introducing these modern technological tools also paves the way to create a 'young smart farmer generation' that uses technology in the country. Modernising agriculture with local technology is a need of the era.'
