Sri Lanka, Sept. 16 -- Cabinet spokesman Health and Mass Media Minister Dr.Nalinda Jayatissa said the government has planned development projects worth around Rs.2 trillion for the 2027 financial year. He said that project planning stage is expected to begin ahead of the budget to prevent delays in the development process.

Speaking at the weekly Cabinet press briefing yesterday (15), he explained that contract awarding for state projects typically takes place late in the year, usually in September, once the procurement process is complete.
