Sri Lanka, April 28 -- Transport and Highways Deputy Minister Dr. Prasanna Gunasena yesterday strongly denied allegations that over Rs. 380 million was mistakenly paid twice to contractors by the Road Development Authority (RDA). The Deputy Minister described these claims, made by Opposition MP Nalin Bandara, as false, misleading, and baseless.

He said that no such double payment was made from RDA's main account or any other related accounts to any company or contractor. He clarified that RDA had no involvement in initiating or processing the transactions referred to in the allegations.

The Deputy Minister further confirmed that no financial loss occurred to the institution.
