Sri Lanka, April 3 -- Veteran journalist Bakthi Dharmapriya Mendis passed away today following a tragic accident that occurred in Athruguriya. He had been under treatment at the Colombo National Hospital.

Mendis was a name synonymous with dedication, integrity, and fearless reporting. His journey in journalism began with the Lakbima Sinhala daily, where his passion for storytelling first took shape.
