Sri Lanka, June 30 -- The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) stated that legal action and fines will be imposed on relevant individuals who fail to submit their assets and liabilities declarations.

The deadline to submit declaration of assets and liabilities for those who are bound to declare same without incurring a penalty will expire today (30).

This has been done in line with the Anti-Corruption Act No. 9 of 2023, CIABOC Director General Ranga Dissanayake said.

Details of personal assets held as of March 31 must be declared before June 30. The Commission points out that this new regulation is being implemented under the new Anti-Corruption Act to prevent corruption, fraud, and irregularities.
