Sri Lanka, Feb. 25 -- The Colombo High Court today (25) ordered the acquittal of Daisy Forrest, the grandmother of Yoshitha Rajapaksa, in a case filed under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.

The decision followed the submission of a specialized psychiatric report by the Colombo Judicial Medical Officer.

Deputy Solicitor General Janaka Bandara, representing the state, presented the findings to the court, which concluded that the accused is mentally unfit to stand trial.

After reviewing the medical recommendations and considering the facts presented, the High Court Judge ordered that Forrest be acquitted of the charges brought against her.
