Sri Lanka, July 21 -- Matara Chief Magistrate Chathura Dissanayake today (21) reissued an arrest warrant for former Minister Basil Rajapaksa after he failed to appear before court for the second time in connection with a case involving the alleged purchase of a 1.5-acre coconut estate in Brown's Hill, Matara.

The case relates to the purchase of the property located on Eliyakanda Road for Rs. 60 million.

The Chief Magistrate also issued a warning to the four sureties who had provided bail for the former minister, ordering them to produce him before court or explain why the bail bonds should not be forfeited.

The orders were issued when the case was taken up before the Matara Chief Magistrate's Court today (21).
